The Schooner is always organising charitable events like the annual Schooner Bike Ride, hosting music giggs, and catering for big venues.
7th Annual Schooner Charity Bike Ride
Another successful bike ride and fantastic fundraiser this year with 85 cyclists - all accounted for at the end!
Gratefully assisted by Joe Guillan, the founder of the ride, Hadrian Border Brewery (who gave us beer), and Station East, supported by Brian Burnie and volunteers from Daft As A Brush, LWC (who gave us more beer), and Alistair Gilmour from Cheers Magazine.
Big thank you to The Boathouse Newburn, The Boathouse Wylam, Black Bull Blaydon, and the Staiths Cafe Dunston, who warmly welcomed us.
Returning to The Schooner after our 26 mile ride, we had a BBQ and great party with The Gaslighters delivering a flawless set on the outdoor stage.
We counted 20 bikes left overnight for storage, from riders left thoroughly refreshed, tired, and emotional from their endeavours.
The monies raised are being collected and counted, already over £1000 in, and the sponsorship money is still coming in!
Cheers to everyone who supported our event, we're already planning next years, which will be called "Henry", as it's the Eighth ride.
We'll see you at the bar……;)

SummerTyne Americana Festival 2017
The Schooner provided top notch food for this year’s SummerTyne festival, hosted by The Sage, Gateshead.
The festival celebrates the finest American roots music and brings together some legendary artists, a whole bunch of rising stars and the best of the next generation for a weekend long party.
